I wish there would be better gift options.  I feel they have gotten less appealing over time.  And more of the $99 ones.  I use these in my office for drawings during our potluck lunches.....which we have several times a year.  They are great little perks for the employees!

I get frustrated when I've just submitted an order and get a nicer free gift offer the same day or with in 24 hours of the order being placed.

It makes me feel like I should've waited to place my order.

Please limit the number of emails you are sending out to no more than one per day.  I am currently receiving 3-4 a day at this time.  I am certain you could organize a lot of ideas in to one efficient email that we could then view and click on the ideas we would like more information about.  As it is the quantity is somewhat annoying and I find myself just deleting most of them without even attempting to view them.

Dump Mrs. Fields cookies.  They suck.  Seriously.  I can't give those away at my office.

How about fewer emails?  I don't need to have an email daily reminding me that I have something in my cart.  I know I have something in my cart.  I put it there so I'd remember to order it next time I built up a big enough order to warrant ordering.  Sometimes, the items are things I get regularly.  Sometimes, the items are special requests from other departments, which are so out of the ordinary, I'll forget about them unless I have it waiting for me in the cart.

And how about fewer emails in general?  I get daily emails - and sometimes multiple emails a day - from Quill.  That's beginning to feel like nagging.  I work for a small company.  We don't order a lot, but when I do, I try to make the most of my order and do it all at once.

And while we're talking about emails, how about making them a little more professional?  I get that you're a 'fun' office supply company and that you're out to make sales, but a lot of your emails, particularly the subject lines, come off as if you're talking down to me.  Quit saying "CONFIRMED" or "ATTENTION" or "CORRECT".  That's annoying.  Even "HAVE WE GOT A SALE FOR YOU!" comes off much less irritating.  How about just saying, "We have some great deals inside"?  I'd be more apt to open a message with that subject line than I would be to delete it without reading.

On each page for individual items, there should be a list of how the item is priced against other sellers. This would be especially helpful for big-ticket items such as ink and toner supplies and save customers time comparision shopping. Quill branded alike items could also be listed here.

I really hate it when I get an email that says I have only a day or two to redeem an offer.  I work for a small company and we don't have a huge need for large orders or a need to order more often than once a month or every six weeks.  Coupons that come in emails stating they're only good for a couple of days really bums me out.  Make coupons and gift offers available for a month, at least.

I can't believe Quill thinks I need 3 emails from them each day. I order about once every two months. I would be much happier with one email a week. I am so sick of them, that I find myself ignoring them completely and being frustrated just seeing them over and over. I'm sure that defeats the purpose.  Wouldn't it be nice if we could choose how often we are disrupted thoroughout our days?

I just received an email this week that said I would save almost $15 if I purchased the Quill brand ink instead of the name brand. But when I looked closer it was comparing a single pack Quill brand to a 2-pack of the name brand. So, it would actually be cheaper to get the Name brand 2-pack then 2 of the Quill brand.  You need to be more carefull with your advertising - it was misleading and somewhat shady.

I often times get a mailer with the currrent sales and saving info on them. However I also get the same information in an email. Either email or mailer would be fine but too many times the info is the exact same thing....

For every $1 spent you could give a percentage to a specific charity of the customers choice. And it could be only for specific items as well! Always looking for ways to give back while shopping, more inclined to as well!

Limit the number of emails sent each day. I get at least 4 emails a day, and most of them are repeating the information from the previous email(s). I wouldn't mind getting 1 email a day, but get annoyed when I am getting more than one.

Limit e-mails to no more than 1 per day.  It's not unusual to get about 5 e-mails a day, and the majority of them contain the same items.

We get calls all the time wanting us to join.  We don't use any of the offered paper and regardless of how much ink and toner we buy we shouldn't have to PAY to be in a  CLUB  so to speak to get good deals! Why not just off great deals to begin with and stop calling all the time to try to get us to join!

First, in the world of IT and Internet, who needs yet another login to keep track of. Having a regular Quill login should be enough to submit comments and ideas. (This is part of my comment only because I just now experienced this aggravation.)

Second, though I am the only one at my company who places online orders, I do not receive the promotional emails from Quill (free treats, points, etc) though others on our company account receive them. I have checked and double checked the contact information to try and ensure I receive them but to no avail. Make it easier!!

We have been visited THREE times in the past four business days by the same young man who claims to represent Quill. He is always accompanied by 1-3 other (assumed) reps. He has been told at least twice that he must call for an appointment and cannot barge into our administrative office as he has done each time (our administrative office is separate from the main practice office).

He asks for my business card, but when asked for his own business card "oh, I don't have one on me." If I had his name, I would be on the phone with someone to report his bad behavior.

Since Quill serves businesses in such a wide range of size, it needs to be stated more clearly for customers that they must meet each order minimum to apply the coupons and Quill Cash. This isn't a concern for a customer who is spending a couple hundred dollars every time they order, but if Quill is going to send flyers and such to smaller customers and advertise that our coupons are stackable all over the website that is used by businesses of all sizes, then they need to understand needs of smaller businesses as well. Smaller customers become frustrated when they see that because they applied the Quill Cash to their order that they cannot get the free gift they initially were trying to reach the minimum for. Reps inform customers of this over the phone all the time, but it needs to be more known so that customers are not surprised when placing an order on their own as that frustration when they find out after spending time building their cart is going to drive them to another company.

It would be nice to have individuals complete a profile questionaire on products they're most interested in and send them emails when those specific items go on sale.

Will my identity be anonymous on the site?

When you register to use the site, you will create a screen name and that will be your name when you post ideas and comments. For added privacy, you will want to pick a unique screen name rather than using your real name. Remember the ideas you post will be seen by any visitor. Read our Privacy Policy to learn how your Quill Ideas account information is handled.

Will my personal information be easily accessed by others?

No. All postings are anonymous and you are only identified by the unique screen name that you have created. Other users will never be able to contact you directly. In certain circumstances, the site moderator may need to contact you through the e-mail address that you provided during account setup.

How are ideas selected for execution?

Online votes and comments are used to help get ideas developed. Ideas that receive the most votes have a higher chance of being considered. Also, an idea may be selected because it appears to have a potential for success.

How do voting and comments work?

As a registered user, you can vote on every idea once.  A voting icon is shown next to the idea. Just click to vote on your favorites. It’s that simple.  Each vote is worth 10 points.  A vote up will add ten points and a vote down will take away 10 points.  The idea’s score can be found beneath the voting icons. The higher the points the more popular the idea is.

Read and make comments on a specific idea by clicking on an idea title.  Comment on ideas as many times as you like. There is no limit.  Comments do not earn an idea points.

Our site moderators will leave comments as well.  These users are identified with a User-added image icon.

Does every idea get a response?

Due to the amount of posts, we won’t be able to respond to every posting. If your idea is moved to the formal review step, you can expect to receive e-mail updates from us.  We will keep you informed if your idea is recommended for implementation and notify you of any status changes.

Do I get recognized if my idea is selected?

If your idea is implemented, we may give you credit on the site, but there is no monetary compensation. Take a look at our Terms and Conditions to learn more.

Is there a moderator on Quill Ideas?

Your ideas and comments are not reviewed before they are posted.  Any postings that violate the Terms of Use will be removed. When appropriate, we will respond to comments in a timely manner. Profanity will not be tolerated. A filter for profanity is in use. Ideas or comments that include profanity will be blocked from posting until the profanity is deleted.
