While you offer tremendous "free gifts", and I appreciate all of them. I was wondering what happens to the left over gifts, snacks, cookies, candy if no one qualifies to receive them based on their total order amount, or if customers forget to select the proper coupon?
i would think that most of the tagible products are date coded and must be discarded is not used by a certain date.
These "left overs" should be gathered and then dispursed, as a donation from Quill, to an organization that could distribute to people in need. Examples of this would be local food banks, shelters, soup kitchens, etc.
Quill would definitely gain community awreness along with, hopefully, a much needed tax deduction.
    This is just a thought.

It would be nice for Quill to send free samples to the clients. We spend over a thousand a month in buying office products, why not send a treat to show appreciation. A pen, bag of candy, mp3 player, post-it-notes or something that says you are appreciated.

If there was an option to give my Quill cash to my favorite charity, I would do it!  Create an enviromnent for people to bless others by using your company to facilitate donations.

    1.  Quill allows customer to setup their charity of choice as a recipient.
    2.  In the check out window, show the charities logo as part of the check out process (use their logo and say "Thank you for supporting your favorite charity through Quill)
    3.  Send email notices of the amounts the business has donated through their puchasing history.
    4.  Give incentives to the customer to use Quill that benefit their charity.
    5.  Make it an option for the charity to receive CASH from Quill in honor of the customer.

Offer companies a discount program that their employee's can use.  They could earn rewards/discounts for every employee purchase and the employee would get good pricing for their personal needs.  Each employee would be linked back to their company (during login setup) and still would control and pay for their own products.  The employeer would be able to keep track in dollars how much discount is generated from their employees, thus giving them reason too offer their employees the program.  The employeer could even negotiate special pricing with Quill on behalf of their employees for certain items (like janitorial, snack, computers, etc) which would give them a way to promote to the employees.  Or Quill could provide a promotional sheet for the employeer to distribute to the employees that would tell about the program, discribe the process, and give sample pricing.

I know for one I would take part if I was able to purchase items I needed everyday (coffee, splenda, cleaning supplies) and could get good pricing.  Currently for example I need fire extinguishers for my house, a toilet brush, and art supplies and if I was able to get all that delivered to me free, from one vender, at a reasonable/discounted price - I would definately take advantage.

As our world becomes smaller and the necessity of becoming sustainable and giving back greater, I'm wondering what Quill does in those areas. Do you contribute part of your profits to non-profits. Do you have an employee volunteer program, where they get a day off of work occassionally to volunteer at the local food bank etc. I would love to see this information promenently posted on your website. If you don't do any of these things, please consider it an important part of your "marketing" strategy. I'm always looking for companies that give back.

Quill used to donate small items to schools for the students.  Is there a way to have schools listed throughout that could develop community partnerships and items donated can be delivered by Quill delivery drivers?

i think it would be good to consider rewarding those of us who encourage other locations of our Corporation to purchase from Quill opposed to their current supplier(s).    I know I've sent much business your way :)

How about a day or could even be quarterly, when vendors themselves reward the company for ordering so much of their products. And have an actual account rep come and meet with the company to review their perks and rewards. Could even be more locally based...maybe rep could even bring in donuts. Essentially, local companies are far more personable and grant more gifts as apprecaition, as oppossed ti gifts offices may never use or want.

Just recently I placed an order and got some candy. Now I use this candy to supply a bowl for the office, and not until after I placed my order did I get an email for a free bundle of candy. Excuse me, but WTH? Give me the free gift with my order, not after the fact!

How about sending the consumer/buyer a gift to show appreciation for their business. It would feel good to get a gift in the mail for being a loyal customer. I mean if JCP and MACY'S can send free gift cards and items, I know Quill can.

Today's economy is our NEW normal since 2008 or so. Please consider discounts and/or gifts for smaller purchases...i.e. $100, $125.
Smaller Business owners have had to re-group and make the $$$ work for them.
Office Managers, supply clerks, etc. have a challenge to keep their offices fully stocked with essentials at a cost-effective bottom line.
EMBRACE us and offer incentives witinin our $$ limit$.

    Thanks!

Quill should make it possible for a company to donate their Quill rewards, ie quill cash and gifts to a non-profit of their choice. Allow for places like schools and local church's to fundraise or aquire items that they need and use regularly.

For the nearly 18 months I have been getting visits from Quill Representatives.  I hate these visits for many reasons.  First and Foremost, I am a loyal Quill customers so these visits are outright annoying especially when they come 3 times in one month.
Second, I work with appointment only and have very little time to spare.  It's just not fair that they come down when I complained about it numerous times.

What's utterly surprising is that Quill Reps need to check who is already a customer and who is not before ringing my doorbell.

Quill is totally waisting time and money having marketing Reps.  These are very nice people, but the LAST person I want to see is ANOTHER person wanting my time.  Everyone who has been in business knows Quill.  There is no need for this bother and expense.  Businesses deal with marketing people on a daily basis as some of the bigger office parks.  This turns into dread of seeing them and leads me to NOT use the person that is bothering me on an ongoing basis.  And that is the truth.  It harms your company -- it does not help.

I love the free gifts and goodies with purchase.  I wish you had some new options besides the popcorn factory and mrs. fields. A COFFEE free gift would be awesome.  Peet's, Starbucks's??

It would be great if the Rep. would call and/or visit us once a month....then we would know who that person is. We have one company who sends their rep around once a month w/freebies, if he does not make it in he at least calls!

I can't even get a can of cookies now.  Gone from ordering $150 to having to order $300.  Shame on you Quill.  I may not order $300 each time, but I have placed $300 in orders this month and at least $500 in the last couple of months.

How are ideas selected for execution?

Online votes and comments are used to help get ideas developed. Ideas that receive the most votes have a higher chance of being considered. Also, an idea may be selected because it appears to have a potential for success.

How do voting and comments work?

As a registered user, you can vote on every idea once.  A voting icon is shown next to the idea. Just click to vote on your favorites. It’s that simple.  Each vote is worth 10 points.  A vote up will add ten points and a vote down will take away 10 points.  The idea’s score can be found beneath the voting icons. The higher the points the more popular the idea is.

Read and make comments on a specific idea by clicking on an idea title.  Comment on ideas as many times as you like. There is no limit.  Comments do not earn an idea points.

Our site moderators will leave comments as well.  These users are identified with a User-added image icon.

Does every idea get a response?

Due to the amount of posts, we won’t be able to respond to every posting. If your idea is moved to the formal review step, you can expect to receive e-mail updates from us.  We will keep you informed if your idea is recommended for implementation and notify you of any status changes.

Do I get recognized if my idea is selected?

If your idea is implemented, we may give you credit on the site, but there is no monetary compensation. Take a look at our Terms and Conditions to learn more.

Is there a moderator on Quill Ideas?
