When I'm comparing several items, I'd like to have the price listed for the base price (if I'm ordering just one) and the bulk discount price (6 or more).  I so rarely order 6 of anything it takes an inordinate amount of time to figure out the actual price of all the things I'm comparing

When searching for items, in the top bar, the previously purchased item list should show purchases from at least the last 12 months. It would be very helpful to also show when the item was purchased.

I can never find the things that I'm looking for on the re-order page.  Even if I go under the catagories it doesnt show them.  How come only certian things are being shown on that page.  It should have where we can pull up frequently order items or by order purchased!  It would be a lot quicker!

It is very difficult to find prior items ordered since it pulls up by date and because we purchase so much. I would love to be able to search by keyword in previous items purchased.

It would make it much easier to find the exact replacement item I am looking for if I could simply scan the UPC barcode of the item into the search bar instead of typing a description and filtering a zillion times to narrow down a search that may turn up hundreds of items.

I would love to see the search results more custimizable. I try to do generic searches and get thousands of items and despite there being filters on the side I still can never seem to find what I am looking for that way. I also have noticed I will search for something (and have no luck) and then later in the day be doing a completely diffrent search and have what I was origianlly looking for come up.

Most of the time, I would like to search by the Quill brand, but the search option includes other brands in the list. Most of the time, I want the cheapest option.

The search is clunky compared to sites I used for other large distributors (i.e. McMaster Carr).  I would like to see a more user friendly search.  Sometimes logical keyworks don't bring up the product and other times the keywords bring up something way off base.  I would also like to see an eliminate from results option and a better method for selecting demensions of an item such as the Avery labels (separate width and length).  With more and more items coming online, this is very important to making your site more efficient for my self and my customer rep.

I have experienced some frustration when I'm searching for an item and there are several catagories to narrow down.  It narrows down, then you check the next box...it narrows down...then again, etc...   It would be nice to just check all of the boxes that apply to your search and then click on a button for the final results to show.

It would nice to have some sort of service (personal shopping assistant-PSA) that allows quill to generate suggestions for a problem I need to solve with a product. right now, it can take me a long time to find the right product to solve my problem such as uncluttering my work space.. I found a smaller pen holder, a nice message holder (notes that used to be spread across my workspace) found a smaller rolladex thinger, desktop file holder, which took me nearly an hour. But if I could just ask for small options to organize desk space and get immediate results, or ask it for something like secure storage options.. and instead of a 10 page list, it gives me four or five options that I can click and see how that one type of item would work.

There is no option to display all sale items, or all sale items by general category.  Sale items can only be displayed by specific category (e.g. office supplies -> Quill Post-it notes).  This makes searching for sale items very tedious and slow.

I think it would be really helpful if you could keyword search your past orders. Sometimes I'll have co-workers come ask me if I can reorder something they thought would be a one-time thing or maybe it was a special order item that we need more of. Instead of going thru the hassle of calling or chatting we can just search our past order history.

When using the Quill.com site and names of things to locate items, I find the search results are way too broad and pull up lots of items not relevant to my needs. On the other hand, if I search the catalogue for some particluar thing, the pages listed in the index are more likley to be related to the name of the thing I am seeking. I would like the website to do better at narrowing the initial results.

I think there should be a better way to filter products when searching for exactly what I want. Away to condense the options.

When shopping for technology it would be nice if you could narrow your choices by the amount of memory available.  During a recent purchase I was looking for 32GB memory.  The choices available for the product varied from 16GB to 128GB.  It would have been nice to separate out all the 32GB products on one page.

When I'm searching for an item, and I enter 1 inch binders, I only want 1 inch binders, not every single binder Quill offers.  This happens with any item I search.  It doesn't matter if I specify size or color or whatever, it shows everything.  Please only show what I'm looking for!

I would like to be able to track ordered items simply by searching by the item number.  If I want to see how many ballpoint pens I ordered int the past year and how much we have spent on them, it would be very useful.  Or if I wanted to see when I last ordered copy paper, I could just put in the item number and get a quick history.

Items that are no longer a option to buy should not come up to be purchased and once you click on the item it takes you away from the page just to learn its no longer available.

Rather than having to search through previous invoices/orders or downloading a list of supplies I've bought, create a search that's exclusive to what I've purchased in the past.  This would allow me to find the item numbers much quick to order.  Also add a check box so that you can immediately add it to your cart.

How are ideas selected for execution?

Online votes and comments are used to help get ideas developed. Ideas that receive the most votes have a higher chance of being considered. Also, an idea may be selected because it appears to have a potential for success.

How do voting and comments work?

As a registered user, you can vote on every idea once.  A voting icon is shown next to the idea. Just click to vote on your favorites. It’s that simple.  Each vote is worth 10 points.  A vote up will add ten points and a vote down will take away 10 points.  The idea’s score can be found beneath the voting icons. The higher the points the more popular the idea is.

Read and make comments on a specific idea by clicking on an idea title.  Comment on ideas as many times as you like. There is no limit.  Comments do not earn an idea points.

Our site moderators will leave comments as well.  These users are identified with a User-added image icon.

Does every idea get a response?

Due to the amount of posts, we won’t be able to respond to every posting. If your idea is moved to the formal review step, you can expect to receive e-mail updates from us.  We will keep you informed if your idea is recommended for implementation and notify you of any status changes.

Do I get recognized if my idea is selected?

If your idea is implemented, we may give you credit on the site, but there is no monetary compensation. Take a look at our Terms and Conditions to learn more.

Is there a moderator on Quill Ideas?

Your ideas and comments are not reviewed before they are posted.  Any postings that violate the Terms of Use will be removed. When appropriate, we will respond to comments in a timely manner.
