Lately it seems every time I search for an item, the website generates a live chat pop-up and begins a conversation that I then need to opt out of. It is frustrating to have to do this several times in a row as I'm shopping... Just let me browse/shop! There is already a suggested item list on the page, no need for redundancy.

I understand if Quill is trying to provide some sort of "personal shopper" experience since the chat is always offering to help find the item I have just searched for and selected - thanks no thanks I already got where I was heading - but perhaps a "personal shopper" button or drop down menu from the regular CHAT selection would be more effective (and certainly far less annoying). It would also feel more like a concierge service than an annoying auto-generated robot spam call it currently brings to mind.

Otherwise I have appreciated the live chat feature and use it if I ever have a question that needs a quick response, with a 100% success rate I might add... I just don't need help "searching for the right item" when I have found it myself already...

When I am trying to search for paper for example, it's really hard to find all the options.  It's very confusing to even figure out how to search for a product.  I think there should be more ways to filter through products.

It would be great to be able to search past orders by the items within the order.  Sometimes we need to know how often we order a product and there is no quick way to find that information.

It would be nice if we could find a specific item we ordered in the past and also see the quantities and dates when the item was purchased. In the order history there should be an option for finding a product not just an order number.

I was trying to look up past orders and it was very hard.  Could you make the order history a little more searchable, especially by a certain time frame in the dates?  I found it very cumbersome to find things..  Also, I pulled up the list of all that I had ordered and it would be nice if in that you could put dates of  when soemthing was last ordered.   Maybe click on an item on the list and it will go to order history dates?
    Thank you!

The site needs better search functionality.  The filters don't alway work correctly depending on how the item was loaded onto the site.  Sometimes I have to scroll each page.  Add a filter so out of stock items aren't shown.  Add page numbers at the bottom so we don't have to scroll one page at a time, but we can jump forward several pages.  In general just try to add more filters or add the ability to search within returned results.

I always want to look at what I'm searching for by price, low to high. Sometimes I have additional filters, but there will never be a time that I don't want the items by low to high. I'd love it if I could set that as the default.

It would be great if, for instance, when I'm searching for writing pads that under the page size filter there was only 8 1/2 x 11, and not also 8-1/2x11, 8.5x11, 8.5 x 11. If all of your dimensions were recorded in exactly the same format it would save having to click a bunch of boxes to see all of the items that might match what I need.

I often forget to add things to my "Favorites" list! Maybe if we order things by the third time, it gets added automatically? That would be nice! I go a little nuts searching sometimes!

When looking for an item entering the item name will sometimes cause items that are not wanted to also appear.  It would be great if we could find the basic item and then have a button for "more like this" which would bring up only the items that are similar.  It would allow items from different manufacturers and with different quantities, but exclude items that are not similar.  For example: when looking for expanding file folders, if item I choose item 9017Q1534 and want to see only similar items, it would bring up only the single pocket accordian folder and not multi pocket or other dissimilar types.

My company has an emphasis to purchase products utilizing recycled materials. Recycle content is the first aspect I search on the website. This could be a separate category to view initially, and then the search could expand into other possible products.

Sometimes I refer to the items purchased list to be sure I'm purchasing the correct product. It would be handy to for the items to be clickable to be redirected to that selected item.

    Love the recent changes.

When I change printers, my ink changes.  And while it is nice to be reminded what cartridges I need, I now have to sift past the cartridges of the past 3 or 4 printers I have owned in every color and size.  Could I perhaps save the printer models that are helpful to me so the ink suggestions are helpful?

I think quill qould benefit from having a phone app. It would make ordering much easier and much better. It would be easier to place ordersw from your phone if yo're not near your computer. It laso makes it way easier if someone catches you in the hallway and asks you to ask something and before you forget to write it down you can just pull out your phone and add the items to your cart and it will be saved to your account and transfer to your cart in your computer.

So...some of the ideas that are being executed are beneficial, so I guess this whole "ideas" thing is good...but seriously, get the basics in order!!
It should be simple logic that for similar items, same information should be listed to be able to make an informed decision.
ie-when shopping for shipping/sealing tape, the size of the roll, the mil thickness, the tensile strength, etc should all be listed for all the tapes
ie-when shopping for pens, you should easily be able to sort by color of writing (which doesn't happen, many of them are say, blue, but then there's a handful, that are just in a blue container, because somewhere it's entered WRONG, so it pulls up misleading products.

So...in addition to this, not only list more complete descriptions for items, but make it smart (don't repeat the same thing), knowledgeable/informative, and ACCURATE! (don't list wrong measurements/sizes!)

I think it would be amazing to be able to filter items to show only items that you can get next day.  Sometimes I am in a hurry and have impatient coworkers that I need to get things for.  This would save me so much time.

When I am searching for boots for several different people, I had to look for the different sizes as a different item.  I needed three pair of slush boots, all the same, but different sizes.  It took scrolling thru 3 pages of results to find the proper sizes, and yes, one size was on each page.  Could you just have the slush boots and once you choose that item, have all the sizes offered as a choice at that time.

It would be nice to have a compare items option when you are trying to decide between a few different products.  That way it puts them side by side so you don't have to keep going back to look at the descriptions.

I would like an option to be able to search for the last time I purchased a particular item rather than having to pull up each order to look for the item.

Your website is not the best for searching products. You might search for mailing tubes, and it might take you an entire 30 min to find he right size. The “filter” tool sometimes is worthless. That’s why maybe having just one item (ea: “kraft mailing tube: choose the size” under title) would be great. And once you click on the item, you can see the one product and al the possible sizes and the prices for each item. One picture and a chart with all the sizes availble and their respective price would be wonderful!

How are ideas selected for execution?

Online votes and comments are used to help get ideas developed. Ideas that receive the most votes have a higher chance of being considered. Also, an idea may be selected because it appears to have a potential for success.

How do voting and comments work?

As a registered user, you can vote on every idea once.  A voting icon is shown next to the idea. Just click to vote on your favorites. It’s that simple.  Each vote is worth 10 points.  A vote up will add ten points and a vote down will take away 10 points.  The idea’s score can be found beneath the voting icons. The higher the points the more popular the idea is.

Read and make comments on a specific idea by clicking on an idea title.  Comment on ideas as many times as you like. There is no limit.  Comments do not earn an idea points.

Our site moderators will leave comments as well.  These users are identified with a User-added image icon.

Does every idea get a response?

Due to the amount of posts, we won’t be able to respond to every posting. If your idea is moved to the formal review step, you can expect to receive e-mail updates from us.  We will keep you informed if your idea is recommended for implementation and notify you of any status changes.

Do I get recognized if my idea is selected?
